Rebecca Stephen's account of her 1993 ascent of Everest. When she reached the top she was the first British woman to do so. An interesting account which details Stephen's unconventional introduction to mountaineering - in 1989 she was a reporter who was asked to cover an Everest expedition as far as base camp. Whilst there, with borrowed equipment she achieved a record height on Everest for a woman - returning just 4 years later to go for the summit.
