O. ) Marxist account of the history of Property by the French Marxist, journalist, political activist & son in law of Karl Marx, Paul Lafargue [ 1842 - 1911 ]. The book was originally published as a series of articles in the Nouvelle Revue of Paris, Lafargue using the pseudonym 'Fergus'. The first English edition appeared in 1890. A review of the work in The Fascio Operaio, ( the official organ of the Italian Working Class Party ) read - 'Lafargue’s work is an attempt to work out the history of property along the lines of the materialistic conception of history. Lafargue, by his great talent and his wide reading, is undoubtedly equal to the task he has set himself'. An important work, much reprinted by the Communists & Marxists of the late 19th & early 20th centuries.
