Cloth, G+. 320pp, colour frontis, 3 colour plates, many b/w illustrations, spine faded, cloth rubbed at the edges, internally a nice copy. Fiction set on the Welsh Borders of Shropshire, about the harsh life of a farmers wife. The book was the author's 6th, but it was the book for which she would become famous. Cold Comfort Farm is said to be a pastiche of the work.
