A collection of the frank & lively letters which were exchanged between Lord Palmerston [ 1784 - 1865 ] who at the time was Foreign Secretary & the young Sir George Villiers [ 1800 - 1870 ] who was a young diplomat, his later political career taking him to the same high office. The letters discuss, on a personal level, British policy with regard to Spain & the Spanish civil war in a way that official despatches could not.
