Account of the British and Russian wars fought in Afghanistan & Northern India. The British wanted to use Afghanistan as a buffer to keep the Russians away from the riches of India - the Russians wanted access to those riches. The Soldiers fought hard & were under equipped. A history of British Military action in the North of India in the 19th century.
