Leather, G+. 876pp, b/w frontis, 6 b/w plates, leather rubbed along the spine, paper yellowed, top corner of the rear endpaper missing, attractively bound if a little worn. Dickens' own personal favourite of his works, telling the story of Copperfield and his life which many see as a mirror of Dickens own. Tolstoy considered chapter 55 [ the Shipwreck & Ham's death ] as the benchmark from which all other works of fiction should be measured.
