Half red morocco over marbled boards, VG. 3 volumes, xii+660pp, vi+475pp, 655pp, grand total of 13 b/w & 2 colour plates, 114 text figs, index to the whole in volume III, leather a little scuffed along the edges of the boards and at the corners, paper a little yellowed, ink stamp of the Finska Läkaresällskapets ( Finish Medical Society ) to the titles & endpapers, bound in Scandanavian style with the binders ticket of Weilin & Goos, Helsingfors on the pastedowns. Third edition of an important work on Urinary tract disease & surgery by the French surgeon & Urologist Jean Casimir Félix Guyon [ 1831 - 1920 ]. One of the leading urologists of his day, he was the first professor of urology in Paris & with fellow doctors in the field he helped found the Association Internationale d'Urologie. His clinical & anatomical excellence was not confined to the one discipline - he is also credited with the discovery of the ulnar canal in the wrist which is today known as Guyon's canal in his honour.
