Bernhard Tauchnitz, Leipzig 1871 Copyright edition.
Half calf, VG. 320+320pp, two volumes in one, leather rubbed somewhat at the edges, paper a little spotted, a good copy. Tauchnitz edition, published the same year as the trade edition by Sampson Low & Marston. Considered Black's best work, the story is that of a young & spirited boy, son of a Presbyterian minister who loves on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands. He falls for his cousin, a French girl who's disposition is at odds with the staunch Puritanism of the village. Black's gift for descriptive prose describes the Scottish scenery well.

Stapled pamphlet, G+. 24pp, b/w illustrations, SIGNED by all six contributors involved in the live performances, corners of the covers curled & a little creased, covers worn, a nice copy. Poems by the folk poet group the 'Barrow Poets' who began by selling poems from a barrow & progressed to live gigs in pubs where the poems would be read aloud with musical accompaniment. The group remained active for some 40 years, with Benson & Parker later becomming involved in the 'Poems on the Underground' campaign.
