This volumes contains descriptions of the Apes & Monkeys, Seals, Otters & small carniverous animals. Georges-Louis Leclerc, Comte de Buffon [ 1707 - 1788 ] French naturalist who's Natural History went through many editions. Published originally as 'Histoire Naturelle, Générale et Particulière' between 1749 – 1778, the book was a landmark description of the Natural World and contained many ideas that would be developed further ( natural selection, man descended from apes, biogeography ) in the decades to come.
