The colophon reads - De l'Imprimerie de Schulze et Dean. FRENCH text. Odd volume ( covering 1770 - 1776 ) of the first British edition of the Parisien newsletter, addressed to the German aristocracy & keeping them abreast of Court & social events in Paris which was complied by Friedrich Melchior, Baron von Grimm [ 1723 - 1807 ]. The newsletter at first concentrating on matters artistic & literary, the range of topics increased to cover all that mattered to high society in Paris, with Grimm an unflinching & severe critic.
