William Blake was inspired to produce 12 works to illustrate the poem. William Falconer [1732 - 1769], sailor & poet. His experience as a sailor helped him produce his most famous work 'The Shipwreck'. ironicaaly Flaconer was to die abourd the Aurora, which was lost with all hands of the Cape of Good Hope in 1769.

Occasional pencil marginalia, a nice copy. Uncommon detailed account of New Place in Stratford which was Shakespeare's retirement home. Purchased by him in 1597 he finally moved there in 1610. The house was pulled down in 1759 by Francis Gaskell who was tired of the constant visitors to the house.
